To put it bluntly, Algatron is cuckoo for Coco Puffs. Constantly frozen on his face is a manic grin. His optics are wide and full of insanity. He's actually scary to some, including Greywing. However, once you get to know him, he's...actually, no, he's still pretty damn scary. The only difference between someone who knows him and someone who doesn't is that he's less likely to frag your aft if he knows you. That is, of course, unless you're a Decepticon. Algatron has an almost rabid hatred for Decepticons. Thank goodness for the rest of the crew, who manage to keep him in check if he flies off the handle. Etaoin is often the one tasked with keeping Algatron on a leash should he lose his slaggin' mind, which happens often.
Fiction[]
Algatron spent most of his time hanging about with alloygators. That is, until the war broke out. When Megatron sent his Decepticons and drones after the Autobots, Algatron savagely defended the alloygators from drones. He was often outnumbered, but never outmatched. Of course, this stopped when Optimus Prime left Cybertron. Megatron chased after him, sending all the remaining drones out to try and destroy the rest of the Autobots on Cybertron. Seeing one bot surrounded by no less than fifty Heavy Soldier drones, Etaoin rushed to his aide. The two were a force to be reckoned with, and quickly dispensed with the drones. Etaoin informed the crazed warrior of the Nemesis docking with the Ark, and Algatron jumped at the chance to go after Megatron, declaring himself a soldier on the Kibukuth.
Trivia[]
- As a character originally to be an albino alligator, Algatron was designed using the character models of BW Megatron and Energon Sharkticon as basis. There are also several elements of the Allicons. His color cues from Megs include green accents, red eyes, and a purple face. The rest of him, however, is white, as expected from an albino alligator.
- Algatron was originally going to be Albitron, a Beast Wars toy which never made it past a mock-up which would have transformed into an albino alligator. However, the writer decided that one Beast War vet was enough.
- Algatron's current form as a Hummer HX was inspired by the Combaticon Scouts of the Revenge of the Fallen video game.
- His creator says that his ideal voice for Algatron would be Scott McNeil, who previously worked on Transformers as pretty much everyone in Beast Wars.
