Surly and impatient, Cliffjumper is almost the exact opposite of his friend Mirage. Where Mirage is sneaky and careful, Cliffjumper is just loud. He'd rather find the nearest Decepticon and blow him away than sneak around "gathering intelligence." If you know where the bad guys are, you really don't need to know anything else, reasons Cliffjumper.

Cliffjumper was a foreman in one of the mines owned by his friend Mirage. As the war spread across Cybertron, the two embraced the path of soldiers as a few other Autobots did. He became a weapons expert, skilled in both ranged and melee combat. His skills earned him a role as a hit and run tactician, but it was a job he took to easily. In 2007, He along with Optimus, Bumblebee, Ratchet, Ironhide, Jazz, Mirage, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Hound, Starsaber, Break, Prowl, and Skids came to earth to stop the Decepticons from finding out the location of the key to vector sigma. He, Ironhide, Jazz and Mirage crashed landed in Grand Island, Nebraska. Cliffjumper hid in an alleyway and scanned a passing 2006 Chevy Camaro. Jazz split off from them to help Bumblebee find Skids and Hound, Leaving Ironhide, Cliffjumper and Mirage to meet up with the others. when the three took a wrong turn and ended up near Offutt (An Army base in Nebraska), they were attacked by Brawl, Slugslinger, and Shockwave. Cliffjumper was blasted by Shockwave in the chest but managed to survive with only minor injuries and took out his purple enemy's arm cannon then hopped onto Slugslinger. Brawl tried to shoot the red Autobot off the Decepticon jet, but Cliffjumper hopped off as Slugslinger fell to the ground while dodging Brawl's missile and transforming. Cliffjumper, Ironhide, and Mirage managed to escape and regroup with the other Autobots. When both sides did battle in the Badlands of South Dakota, Cliffjumper fought Shockwave again and used his electromagnetic gauntlets to punch out Shockwave's eye then helped Bumblebee fight Bonecrusher. Cliffjumper, Sideswipe, and Starsaber StarSaber attended Optimus Prime's televised speech declaring the Autobots would do their very best to defeat the Decepticons and defend earth from other Cybertronian threats.
