As a young bot, Tagger was full of enthusiasm. He was outgoing, outspoken, and charismatic. He even had a young ladybot. However, time makes fools of us all. Tagger grew old. He and his ladybot were torn away from each other by Gold Plastic Syndrome. Bits and peices of him began to fall off. And so, the old bot became a recluse. That is, of course, until a young buck named Etaoin came along and brought him out of his funk. Etaoin nicknamed the old bot Ragtag, and he soon accepted that as his name. Now, with his right servo having been replaced by an energon mace, and half his bodyparts only held on by pegs, the old guy prefers to work in his lab, using a crudely built servo as a replacement for his mace during experiments and repair sessions. However, make no mistake, Ragtag is still as battle-ready as the next bot.

Seriously, though, he's really really old.

Trivia[]

  • Ragtag is very similar to Animated Ratchet, only a lot less grumpy. He also incorporates some G1 Kup's schtick (as does Ratchet, but whatever); namely, an older, grumpy bot with a degree of decrepit-ness has to look after a young, brash, immature bot who tends to get in over his head. There are also elements of Animated Optimus Prime, in that his old flame was infected somehow and became a Decepticon because of it.
  • His creator says that his ideal voice for Ragtag would be Paul Eiding, who previously worked on Transformers as Perceptor, Deceptitran, Scrawney, and Zebop Skadana in Generation 1.
