Transformers: Requiem is a custom made Transformers universe/series created by TheCharlieGamer on DeviantArt. It's a mashup of almost every other Transformers franchise to date, with lots of characters homaging older ones. If it were an actual show, it'd be aimed at older audiences (10 and up), with dark tones, death in episodes, and even a bit of Cybertronian swearing (such as frag, scrap, etc). The series finale was once suggested to be a three parter, killing off every character introduced in violent ways, homaging Issue 50 of the US Marvel Transformers comic, with Ultra Magnus being the only survivor, but this idea didn't come to fruition. A redubbed version of Requiem, named 'Transformers: Spirits', aimed at younger audiences (3 to 9) has also been thought of, mainly as a joke. In Spirits, deaths are edited out, or, in the case of deaths where a character shuts down instead of getting stabbed, cut, or any other violent thing, they do shut down, but characters say it's temporary. The series finale would be cut entirely, due to obvious reasons. Cybertronian swearing is replaced by other words, and is more humorous than Requiem. Honestly, it would feel like a parody fan redub. Currently, the characters who aren't repurposed TF toys do not have robot form pictures, as TheCharlieGamer sucks at drawing, but you can still imagine what they can look like. There's also a toyline for Requiem, aimed at both young audiences, under the name 'Transformers: Spirits' and old audiences, under the name 'Transformers: Requiem'. For a list of the show's episodes, click here. A Requiem game was also released for PCs, named A Seeker Story, where you play as the Seeker Jetstorm, and have to decide whether you want to be an Autobot or Decepticon.

Origin and how it evolved

The idea started out when TheCharlieGamer was younger, as he used to try and construct Transformers characters out of wooden building blocks. Soon enough, he turned it into a custom universe, creating a list of characters he had created on a Google Doc. Soon, the custom universe evolved greatly when TheCharlieGamer finally started to upload these character bios to his DeviantArt. The characters were given realistic vehicle modes, and were fleshed out. He still makes models, but he more repurposes them as Cybertronian forms, and what the figures in the Spirits toyline look like, and even has characters without proper models, such as Lockdown, Impactor and a few more.

Plot

After Unicron is destroyed by version of Rodimus Prime from the Primax cluster during the events of 1986's The Transformers: The Movie, a Megatron from universe cluster known as "Charlex" seeks to revive him for his own evil plans, by using the spirits of deceased lifeforms to bring Unicron back to life (hence its name, Requiem). He keeps this a secret, with nobody else knowing. Meanwhile, severe Energon radiation kills an Autobot scout, causing the Autobots and Decepticons to evacuate Cybertron and come to Earth, with new Earth modes. Starscream switches sides, from Decepticon, to Autobot, to neutral. After a while, they briefly move to the Jungle Planet, and meet the Maximals and Predacons. However, this doesn't last long, and the Jungle Planet is soon destroyed. Eventually, Megatron finally has enough spirits to unleash Unicron, but ex-Decepticon Starscream hears about this, and tries to stop this, but it's too late...Unicron has already been unleashed...however, joining with the Autobots like he did once before, Starscream manages to finally stop Unicron, at the cost of his own life...This story was meant to slightly homage Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's spirits, as well as Armada's Mini-Cons and Cybertron's Cyber Keys, with spirits being a main collectible. The only difference being only Megatron is collecting them, and nobody else.

References to other Transformers series

The series is mainly based on G1 (various characters such as Optimus Prime based on their G1 counterparts), Beast Wars (versions of various Maximals and Predacons, Dirge homages Waspinator in comic relief, along with a version of Waspinator), and G.I. Joe (Skywarp's codename is Storm Shadow after the Cobra character, Jetfire, Snow Cat, Stormcloud and Blastcharge transform into G.I. Joe vehicles, versions of some G.I. Joe and Cobra characters), but also has homages to GoBots (versions of various GoBots characters, characters named Road Ranger and Heat Seeker), RID 2001 (versions of Scourge, Sky-Byte, Baldigus and Omega Prime, who is renamed Omega Supreme), Armada (Mini-Cons, versions of Demolishor, Jolt and Double Face (Armada Sideways), Sideswipe and Barricade both homage Wheeljack, Bumblebee and Firebolt are repurposed from Sparkplug and Dualor, respectively), Energon (The Powerlinx gimmick is homaged with Hot Rod and Hot Shot, Bonecrusher and Sledge homage their Energon namesakes in colours, Wedge and Wideload homage Energon Duststorm and Wideload in colours), Cybertron (versions of Scattershot, Noisemaze (Cybertron Sideways) and Leobreaker, the character Scoop homages Landmine, with his Decepticon redeco Scrapper resembling Landmine's redeco, Movie Grindcore, the Jungle Planet appears), the live action movies (versions of Barricade and Sideways, Thundercracker homages Michael Bay himself), Animated (A version of Lockdown, Slipstream homages her Animated counterpart), Prime (serious dark tones, Sideswipe homages Knock Out, Breakdown homages the character of the same name), Cyberverse (Sawtooth homages the Cyberverse Sharkticon of the same name) and even CyRaptor's custom Transformers: Legacy series/universe (it was an inspiration for Requiem).

References to other things

Requiem not only references other Transformers series, but many other non Transformers related stuff as well. Normally, this is referenced with a few characters' personalities, which can homage a non Transformers character's personality. The main reason for this is because TheCharlieGamer knows that this isn't an actual Transformers series, and and does it as a little joke done for fun. He does say that if Requiem ever did become a legit Transformers series, the references would be more relegated to Transformers references only.
