A representation of a Zarak from the movie universe

Zarak are a species of cybertronian animal in the Transformers: Universes

Zarak are a species of techno-organic creatures related to scorpions.

Notable individuals include:

Appearance/Physical features[]

From a glance Zarak may seem to be a completely robotic human-sized scorpion but a closer look will show each of their components are techno-organic in nature. Their basic body form resembles that of their scorpion relatives. They have 8 limbs (six legs and two pedipalps). Their pedipalps have three razor-sharp claws which are equally spaced around the pedipalp. They have a retractable pseudo-palp located at their rear which is up to 4 times their body length. This pseudo-palp ends with a stinger which secretes a variety of venoms. They have 4 eyes and their mouth is surrounded by razor-sharp fangs.

Habitat[]

Zarak occupy hot desert outer regions of the cybertronian wastes

Biology/Mechanics[]

All of a Zaraks components are techno-organic in nature. The pedipalps have three "shredder turbines" in the "palms" which are primarily used for breaking up food into smaller, more manageable pieces. Their claws can spin at extremely high speed and can burrow through heavy rock at high speeds. Their venom sac is located at the base of their tail and is connected to the stinger by multiple internal tubes. Their stomachs, like all techno-organics, can disolve almost any matter and use 99% of the released energy,

Diet[]

The foods of choice for most Zarak appear to be enrgon crystals and anything living smaller than them.

Behaviour[]

Zarak are extremely aggresive by nature. This along with their usually deadly venom makes them a pest.

Taming[]

Despite their aggressive nature, they are possible to tame. Cybertronian law dictates that a tamed Zarak must have:

  • Removed venom sacs
  • Removed stingers
  • Claws replaced with stun batons
  • Operated on to remove killing instincts and replaced with defensive instincts

On the market, tamed Zarak are much sought after and are extremely expensive.

Debate of sentience[]

Many of the greatest autobot minds have debated whether Zarak are truly sentient or just instinctive in nature. While their have been examples of those proven to be sentient, it is currently unknown whether these are just anomalies or examples of the entire race.
